Jim has been accredited in the financial services industry since 1983. His professional specialties include wealth accumulation, business planning, asset allocation, tax-advantaged savings concepts, estate planning, and retirement planning. Jim earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics at the University of Virginia, and went on to acquire an MBA from the Sellinger School of Business at Loyola College in Maryland. His experience as 10-year co-owner of a retail sporting goods operation, and founder and 14-year President of an international mail-order lacrosse company further enriched his understanding of business finance and operations.

Jim is insurance-licensed in life, health, disability and long-term care insurance. He earned the FINRA Series 6, 7, 63 and 65 registrations, held through LPL Financial, and is an Investment Advisor Representative with LPL Financial.  He earned the designations of Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Certified Life Underwriter (CLU) from the American College.  He has served as an adjunct faculty member at the Community College of Baltimore County, is former President of the Millennium 2000 Investment Club, and is a member of several professional and business associations. In 2002, Jim was awarded the NAIFA (National Association of Financial & Insurance Advisors) Agent of the Year for work with the Maryland Agency Financial Group.  Jim served for two years as the president of the Fathers Club at Loyola Blakefield, where all four of his sons attended middle and high school.

Jim and his wife of 40 years, Terri, have been residents of Harford County, Maryland since 1978 and have 5 children. Jim is active in the community, serving on the Knights of Columbus and coaching in Rec Councils and Clubs. Jim is an avid lacrosse player and coach. He was named All-American and enjoyed 2 NCAA National Championships on the UVa lacrosse team. There, he was recipient of UVa’s Henry Gaver Award given to that athlete who exemplifies the highest qualities of sportsmanship, leadership and unselfish service. Following college, Jim was player/captain of the 3-time National Champion Mt. Washington Lacrosse Club. He is now a player and director of a Masters’ Lacrosse Club which plays year round.
